School Council News

gosh.jpgThe School Council has chosen Great Ormond Street Hospital as its designated charity for 2009/2010.  This charity will be the main recipient of our school fundraising events, including the School Walk in Activities Week and many other events throughout the school year.  Great Ormond Street Hospital charity was selected democratically from a shortlist compiled by members of the School Council.  We feel that this is a very worthy charity, as it does amazing work that directly affects young people of our own age group.

Great Ormond Street Hospital raises money to provide world-class care for its young patients and their families and to pioneer new treatments and cures for childhood illness.  They treat over 150,000 young people every year and are dedicated to helping to find new cures for diseases, ensuring that the most up-to-date equipment is purchased for the benefit of the hospital and to help to rebuild lives of those children and young people that it helps.

Great Ormond Street hospital also helps the families of those being treated at the hospital.  It provides counselling, emotional and financial support for those who have been affected by serious illness or even the death of loved ones.

goshpress-release.jpgWe, as a council, feel that this charity is a vital one in our country, so we are committed to raising as much money as we can for the hospital. Thank you for your support.
